1. You could come out of your copies during the orchestral intro! Just the right style here. Splendid shaping of the phrases with excellent rises and falls in the tone. A splendid range of dynamic colour was explored and you maintained intensity in the quieter moments. There were small intonation flaws but this was excellent Verdi.

2. A splendidly characterised performance which was incisive in both articulation and rhythm. It built up to a splendid conclusion. Bravo.

3. Again there was a very good sense of style and there were attractive, crisp, clear choral sounds. Some of you though were holding your copies rather low and looking down. A jolly performance - it was glad - it could now be more exceeding glad! Well done.

4. A splendid tempo and it was a nicely buoyant performance. Not quite as incisive and rhythmic as Bobby. In fact some passages were a little on the edge but it was mostly stylish singing.
